Ruby Bellamy is a visual artist focusing on the connections between craft, the home, and humans.
Ruby discovered her love of quilting during her last year of studies at Norwich University of the Arts, where she graduated from in 2024 with First Class Honours.
She uses traditional quilt making skills to influence her artworks, alongside her skills in crochet, sculpture, and woodworking. Her artistic practice is rooted in a background in graphic design, where her interest in traditional printmaking led Ruby to focus on crafts and hand work.
A large influence on Rubyโs work are the skills handed down from generations of her family. Generational skills is an area that Ruby is continuously researching and using within her creative practice.
Outside of her artistic practice, Ruby works as the manager of Wisbech Gallery. Here she focuses on developing a safe and inspiring space for all artists, while developing her own skills in curation and design.
Ruby also has experience running craft workshops and 1-to-1s with a wide range of clients. She uses a reflective and empathetic approach to craft work to build relationships, and show how arts and crafts can be used for self-help and grounding yourself.
