Ruby discovered her love for quilting during her last year of study at Norwich University of the Arts, where she graduated in 2024 with a First Class Honours, in Fine Art.

Recently, Ruby has been interested in researching new topics, turning to nature and her inner dialogue for inspiration. She is fascinated by the images you see when your eyes are closed, and her continuous inner conversations.
Her artist practice takes many forms, such as quilts, pastel drawings, embroidery and sculpture. Ruby has found that embracing a wide range of mediums allows her to play with new ideas and express her thoughts more clearly.

Alongside her creative practice, Ruby has a passion for curation and research, with exhibitions and accessibility being a key interest. Ruby enjoys working with creatives in different industries, from visual arts to theatre and film. She believes her work in different industries will help her to better understand the needs of audiences, fellow creators, and build her confidence for personal projects.

Wisbech Gallery

Outside of her creative practice, Ruby manages Wisbech Gallery with the Blackfield Creatives Team; her she is developing her curatorial skills and assisting with the running of the Gallery.
In this role Ruby has taken on the Gallery’s graphic design, social media, and general communications. She has found an interest in producing and management of events and exhibitions, using Wisbech Gallery as a platform to promote wider access to visual arts in Wisbech and surrounding areas.

Ruby has worked with Blackfield Creatives since 2024 on a number of exhibitions, including the Gallery’s Open Exhibitions, and annual DRAW competitions. She hopes to build on her curation skills, while also teaching others to open up the arts to the next generation of artists in Wisbech and Fenland.
