‘Murmurations 01’ follows on from a line of thinking and research Ruby is exploring, surrounding drawings, line, and subconscious thought. This piece was created away from the constraints, and rigid nature of textile work, Ruby focused on the feeling of the working material and movement of stitching to create line and forms.

The piece takes inspiration from the shapes Ruby sees when she closes her eyes, bare tree branches, and bird flight patters. This work marks the start of a shift in practice, exploring new ideas and methods.
