Stitch to Stitch (2024)

‘Stitch to Stitch’ was a group exhibition, curated and created by Ruby.
The aim of ‘Stitch to Stitch’ was to highlight Ruby’s interest in generational skills, and to show works made by herself and the family members who taught her to sew, knit and crochet.

Most of the piece on display in ‘Stitch to Stitch’ are usually found in Ruby’s families homes. Blankets on sofas, teddies on beds, or keep sakes placed on display on shelves around the house. The items would never normally be shown in a ‘white cube’ setting, and this was highlighted through ‘Stitch to Stitch’.

This show became the fuel for Ruby’s passion for curation, and further pushed her ideas around generational skills. She sites this project as a core inspiration for her creative practice.
