Royal Norfolk Regimental Museum Residency 2024
In 2024 Ruby had the chance to work with the Norfolk Royal Regimental Museum to research and work with their collection.
Ruby chose to focus on the embroidered works, textiles, and the make-do-and-mend attitude of the Wars. Ruby’s response to her research and the collections is the quilt ‘Scrappy’.
’Scrappy’ was made exclusively using second-hand fabrics, and taking inspiration from quilting designs of the 1920’s. The quilt is a testament to the power of upcycling, and using materials that would usually be thrown away to create art.
